Hydrogen peroxide is most often used for first aid and it has become a common item in every household.  However, hydrogen peroxide can do so much more than disinfecting wounds and staving off infections.

It is known that hydrogen peroxide reacts with organic material and it breaks down into oxygen and water, making it safe for non-toxic general use. Over the years, people have experienced with using hydrogen peroxide for their daily chores and this inexpensive product proved to have more benefits than one would think. Before you start experimenting with hydrogen peroxide, make sure you get the diluted, household grade solution. The household grades are typically 3-6% so make sure read the label properly.

Since hydrogen peroxide kills germs by oxidizing them, it is often used as disinfectant both in the bathroom and in the kitchen. It can kill germs from brushes, tables, cutting boards, buckets and pretty much anything you could think of.  Some people use it to sanitize vegetables and even meat after they are taken out of the packaging. If you plan to do so, remember to thoroughly rinse the meat or vegetables.

Stain removal is another good use of hydrogen and since it’s much cheaper than commercial stain fighting products. A lot of people have learned how to use it to remove stains from their clothes, rugs, table clothes and anything else that gets stained. It is highly effective at removing blood stains and my grandmother uses it even today for this purpose.
