Where do you spend your money?

When you spend time out in the conditions you learn quickly what happens if you don’t have what you need. Being wet and being cold is not fun. Enjoy these other essentials, as well. You might be surprised at what you see in this list.

Survival Knife

While this doesn’t have to be your only cutting tool, a good survival knife is essential

Steel Bottle

You need some water on hand and a way to boil water, as well.

Lighters

Carry a couple of lighters to make fire. You can carry other things, too!

Cordage

Cordage has a number of uses. The biggest being making shelter

Sunscreen

Most people forget about sunscreen until they are sunburnt.

Bug Spray

This one speaks for itself. Good luck sleeping by water without some bug spray.

Tarp

Cover is always a good thing. You should never be without some form of cover.

Shemagh

There are so many uses for this guy it just makes good sense to carry one.

Folding Saw

A survival knife can do a lot but a folding saw can cut wood across the grain.

Commo

A means of signaling or communication with the outside world is going to be critical in your survival kit.

All of this gear is good but you need to know how to use this stuff. You see,  being able to use this gear is critical otherwise its just stuff in a backpack.

There are other essentials to consider but this is just our list and the things that we would like each survivalist carry.
