101 Low Cost Items to Barter When the SHTF
When the supply chains break, when the wheels of trucks that our nation relies on to get us our food, clothing, and medical items, the use of money will come to a screeching halt. Sure, people will still use it for a few days or weeks, perhaps with some gold and silver being traded but eventually, it will all come down to bartering.
You don’t need expensive items to barter with. In fact, in survival situations it is generally the small everyday items that people will be seeking. Imagine how valuable simple spices like cinnamon, salt, and pepper would be after two weeks of eating nothing but plain rice. A little sprinkle of pepper would turn that same meal into something completely different and exciting! Pepper is extremely inexpensive as are cigarette lighters and dental floss.
Think about all the things you could and would be using these two small items for! If you start to think about it, there are numerous items that are inexpensive, easy to buy in bulk, and small enough to store (even with limited space!) that could be used for bartering purposes.
