There is a certain line that we cross as a society when ordinary people start wearing body armor. Its an interesting thought. How close does the public get to dressing, thinking and acting like soldiers before we have, simply, a public of soldiers. I guess its arguable that in the 1700’s that’s exactly what we had. Colonial men knew how to shoot and kill and they knew what they stood for. Things have changed. Its arguable that a society of warriors is the best method for mitigating threats. Maybe its not the best method for a civil and happy society but who said that was a prerequisite?
This is a great article that looks at the threats of the urban sprawl and considers how body armor would work in these settings. What are your thoughts on body armor and its place in our society?
