We talk a lot about comms in the prepping and survival world. Commo is a big piece of the puzzle and for good reason, we need to be able to reach our loved ones if we hope to keep them safe. What about communicating directly with family?
Many preppers face the perils of having a family that thinks they are either silly or crazy. They don’t want to be involved in prepping at all and don’t want to hear about it. For these preppers the struggle is real and its tough.
There is nothing more real than having to deal with a hostile family structure where prepping is not allowed or not appreciated. It means that ever dollar you spend or book you read is under scrutiny. So, if we claim to be concerned about commo, we should also talk about how to deal with communicating your prepper goals with family
If they are unwilling to understand the importance of emergency preparedness, perhaps you just talk to them about regional disaster. These are disasters that are endemic to a particular area. Your area might deal with things like hurricanes or wildfires. These are both serious risks that deserve some prevention investment.
These things are also going to happen again. Its not a matter of if.
No one can know the future but it would seem that things are going to be pretty tricky! While we dont have to talk about the end of the world, we can talk about things like resources wars and shortages. We can talk about civil unrest of the 2020 election.
There are many reasons, just around the corner, that make prepping a very viable cause.
If all else fails, there is something else you can do. It might not make you proud but you can always bribe the family to join in the prepping fun!
