Having plenty of water is a no brainer, without it we die… simple. Knowing that fact we all should be thinking proactively about how we can achieve more water storage and honestly, it is very simple….rain barrels. In this case, the authors have utilized a system of interconnected rain barrels to collect rainwater from roof runoff from the gutters.  A very clever and useful idea.

This particular set up shows you four 55 gallon rain barrels in series and hidden under a crawl space, if you have no crawlspace you could always build a box around them and plant some herbs on the box to hide them. I think this sort of project should be high on peoples ‘Prepping To Do List’. If you are not much of a prepper this would be excellent way to save money and use what has been collected to water your garden when the weather is extra dry.

In some states rainwater collection may be prohibited, so check your state regulations before attempting this DIY project.
