Create a Simple Farady Cage - preparedness

The EMP is still a substantial threat to our society. A government report was published only a few years ago that detailed the effects of an EMP on much of the infrastructure in our country.

Water, food production, electricity, and transportation are some of the most important services that would fall apart first. You will need every bit of advantage you can muster.

A faraday cage can keep your precious electronics safe from an EMP.

The beauty of these contraptions is that they are cheap and take very little time to create. The difference they make can be monumental. If you were to wake up one day following the effects of an EMP and you were able to pull a radio, phone, IPad filled with offline survival docs and other important electronics it would be a very big deal.

Trash Can Cage

The most common Faraday cage is going to be that which is made from a simple metal trash can with a lid. The inside can be lined with insulating rubber foam as another layer of protection.

That’s really it! Between the metal and the rubber insulation, you should be able to protect what’s inside from that charge and that will make a world of difference on your electronics.

Pressure Cooker Cage

The walls of the pressure cooker are very strong. These are designed to operate under serious heat pressure. This means you will get great insulations from an EMP with these devices. With a pressure cooker, the process is even simpler!

Place your electronics in Ziploc bags and then drop them in the pressure cooker and put on the lid. That’s the whole process! It really cannot get any easier than this. We have to be prepared with simple solutions like this.

Store a few important electronics away to be sure you have some answers in this form.
