In many localities across the nation, law enforcement recruitment is down. It’s ugly but it’s true. Becoming a police officer is not without many struggles.
Potential officers are seeing this and turning away. Whether its social outcry when officers are put in tough situations or just an overall discontent for law enforcement.
Home defense is a crucial part of being prepared. Your home is your base. You may have dreams of a bug out location or you may even have a buried shelter but let me remind you that nothing feels quite like home.
Nothing is as important as a home. It is your most valuable investment. Even in times of “peace”, you should still have a plan for home defense.
Everyone’s home is different and requires a unique plan. It’s up to you as the homeowner to identify points of entry and weaknesses in your home. Bad guys will do this. Be prepared.
Daily Home Security
Your daily home security procedures are really what lays a base for it all. Do you shut your home up at night? Do you lock windows and doors? Do you keep lights on your porch? Do you have cameras or floodlights? All of these things equal your daily security process.
This takes discipline.
Emergency Home Security
If all goes well your daily home security plan will be enough. However, sometimes things get ugly. Crime can move into your town, disaster can compromise home security. What will you do then?
Do you have a plan for what you should do if you hear a front door kicked in and people milling about downstairs? If not you are going to need that.
Gather your kids and spouse, get on the phone with 911, get a weapon to stave off these attackers and go through the motions once and a while.
