Emergency Water Filtration Solutions
Most everyone knows how important having access to potable water is but what about those emergency situations where you cannot go to the store or turn on the tap? If you haven’t stored any water either, you may be in some serious trouble! The rule of thumb is “a gallon of water per day, per person.” Carrying around gallons of water is not easily done, especially in a bug out situation. Since the average person can’t carry around 3 days worth of water, they need to find other options.
Enter the wonderful water filters that have come out the last few years! There are several options available to you that will fit just about any situation out there, even water that has radiation contamination can be cleaned by using special filters that specifically target radiation. Overall though, each person should have their own personal filter along with a larger filter that can handle large amounts of water for a family or group of families.
Other than the Lifestraw, many of the water filter solutions that are out there today are smaller, lighter, less expensive, and can filter more than they used to! “Water is life” and the last thing you want to be worried about in a disaster is where you will get your next cool drink of water from.
