Low Acidity Canned Goods
When you are dealing with canned goods that are low in acidity you can hold onto those longer. Here are some items that are low acidity.

- Canned Meats
- Canned Broth
- Broth-Based Soups
You can get 5 years past the best by date on these low acidity foods. It’s impressive. If the can is in good shape you are going to be able to get this long shelf life.
High Acidity Canned Goods
You will not get the same type of shelf life out of high acidity foods. This is because the lining on the inside of the can will wear down faster. When you have food touching metal directly its contamination. That is why we must be more careful with high acidity foods.
