I love “fatty coffee”, also called butter coffee or bulletproof coffee. But the best part is that fatty coffee actually has health benefits and gets more mileage from the caffeine, so less does more if you love even more of peppy caffeine.
Even more than a powerful energizing effect, the butter coffee helps the coffee effect last longer. For some people it means the stronger effect can be too much. For others, the fat helps to mute the jitters while increasing the brain access for greater functioning for a longer period.
Thankfully, society is finally beginning to recognize that the age of diet foods was a nutritional catastrophe. Low carb, high sodium content foods with empty calories, resulted in soaring obesity and disease, so it’s encouraging to see a return to more natural, healthier foods. More folks are gardening and growing their own foods, as well as raising and hunting free range meats.
When it comes to fats, it’s recognizing that higher fat foods are healthy and essential, when it’s the right kinds of fats. Sorry… not fried chicken, fries and chips or donuts and funnel cakes. But… you can say “yes”, guilt-free, to avocados, raw nuts, salmon, butter from grass-fed cows and coconut oil. Those last two? That’s what makes the fatty coffee.
When I first heard about butter coffee, it just sounded wrong. But think about it; coffee is a bean. Most people don’t tend eat milk on their beans… eew! But we likely add butter to them, so it actually makes more sense. The thing about fatty coffee is that no matter whether you typically drink your coffee with milk, milk and sugar, or black, the butter coconut coffee tends to please all palates.
