If you want good food for your family no matter what, you need to grow your own food. And to do a good job, you need to plan a garden that will fulfill your family’s needs.
Take a few minutes to write down the vegetables your family enjoys the most. Do you eat a lot of root vegetables? Potatoes, carrots, parsnips, beets, and so on, are usually easy to grow and take little time and care.
Does your family enjoy tomatoes? You can do so many things with tomatoes: fresh summer salads, salsa and other sauces, soups, and so on. Plant a few tomato plants to have all summer long and freeze some for later.
How about cucumbers? They make wonderful fresh salads and delicious pickles.
Once you make a list of your favorite fruits, veggies and herbs, draw up a plan to make planting easier on yourself. If you don’t know where to start with your plans, take a look at the free garden plans below. One of them might be perfect for your family, and you’ll save some time 😉
