Get More Garage Storage With a Bump-Out Addition
I think we all could safely say we need more storage in our homes. This is not always easy to achieve because it takes a lot of money to ad an addition to a home, probably 20k and upwards.
Well, how about a garage add on? This is a cheap and surprisingly easy way to achieve storage space. This simple, wood-foundation addition will give you enough room for a motorcycle, ATV, mowers and snow blowers and if you want to add shelving units this could be a perfect place to store canned foods, etc.
This pictured addition cost roughly $2,000 for materials for this 5 x 12-ft. garage addition. Your costs will vary depending on the type of siding, roofing and windows you choose, obviously.
I personally would try and use reclaimed materials for a lot of this project to keep the costs even lower. Heck, I would probably even call up different roofing companies and try and get samples or even use old tin cans for shingles. That is a cool project all on its own.
