There are some pieces of equipment that just speak to self-sufficiency in a way that others do not.
One such piece of equipment is the butter churn. Now, I will preface this intro with: If you do not have a dairy cow or if you do not plan on getting one, the building of a butter churn will be purely aesthetic. Buying cream by the half-gallon and churning it into butter is incredibly expensive.
If you are looking for a way to churn some cream up into butter, in bigger batches than the kitchen aid can produce, this is the way to go.
This design is just like the old school butter churn and to be honest, there is something very warm about having one of these on-premises. It goes beyond mere nostalgia.
