The lonely road of survival is only for the movies. We have to be prepared with a number of people who are going to be on your side in the worst case scenario. You see, we are only going to be able to do so much as a single person or even a single family.

Of course, we cannot walk up to neighbors and start hollering at them about the sky falling. We need a more tactful approach. One of the best ways to do this is to consider creating a MAG or mutual assistance group.

While connecting with neighbors is very important, you also want to be sure that you have some select members out there in the wake that are waiting for you and ready to jump in and help out. You see, everyone is going to have struggles but those who have help are going to be much better off.

We can be real frank about what we want in our MAG. Here is a short list.

Like Minds

You want people who think like you. These people should share your beliefs and your mindset. This will go a long way and will keep you from spending all your time arguing.

Workers

One of the most important pieces of the puzzle is going to be people with strong backs who are prepared to work. You want to have a group that is primarily built to work. That doesn’t mean you cannot have other types of people. Just be sure your base is made of strong workers.

Resources

While it might sound tough, you are looking for people with resources. You want team members who are bringing something to the game. You don’t want to waste your time and effort on people who bring nothing to the party.
