We have seen blackouts in New York City in recent days. Unexplained blackouts. This is a big deal.
While we haven’t seen anything like Venezuela, who is experiencing another power outage, it just seems like these blackouts are becoming more and more frequent. It’s wild, but we could be in the middle of something very sinister that would keep us in the dark.
Years ago, we might have looked at these power outages as something of an anomaly. However, we are dealing with the age of hackers and we are on the cusp of the first hacking war of our time.
Dealing with Power Outages
Of course, if you are going to power up that gas generator you are going to need a stockpile of gas. This stockpile of gas will make all the difference in a power outage.
Inside the home, you should also build yourself a blackout kit. This kit might include things like flashlights, emergency radios, lanterns, candles, batteries and any number of items to pass the time. You might even want to store some items that are unique to seasonal temperatures.
USB fans go a long way and you can even get USB ceramic heaters. Kerosene may be part of your preparedness plans for a blackout.
As more and more nations settle into the field of hacking in warfare, we could see even more power outages in this nation. Our own nation could even practice putting our lights out so they can figure out how to get them back on following an attack.
It’s hard to know what the future will hold. However, it doesn’t hurt to have a nice kit for dealing with blackouts.
