A slingbow will allow an individual to fire accurately, an arrow from a slingshot. It is a perfect survival, entertainment, and even hunting weapon that anyone can make for under $20.00 and is well worth the small manufacturing time and cost.
Ammo and weapons will probably be hard to come by if SHTF. That’s why it is important to always have a backup. This little slingshot bow has enough power to take down small game. Even hurt someone pretty bad if needed (obviously you don’t want to go around hurting anyone)
Let’s take a look at this DIY hack on a common slingshot.
This Quick Hack
You are basically going to take two actions on this modification. This is little more than a modification.
- You are going to need to buy a whisker biscuit, which is used to steady arrows, before shooting, on a compound bow.
- Next, you can do away with the leather cloth that is used to hold the shot. That can be swapped out for a piece of bow string. Now you can knock the arrow, too!
Attach the biscuit by simply zip tying it to the point of the V in the slingshot so that it sits between the V. Adding the bowstring is just as simple with a quick knot on either side of the slings latex tubing.
This is pretty neat and would be a great backup weapon for security or small game. There is something to be said about scavenged weapons or weapons that can be made to do a better job at killing and defending.
