The lesson of the starving spring is one that most of us either don’t know or take for granted. I first learned about the starving spring from reading about the native Americans. For the modern humans, spring is a sign of new life. Its a time to get seeds in the ground and start your own gardening projects with vast optimism. Of course, you are able to sustain yourself with supermarket produce. That wasn’t the case before the supermarket.  In fact, spring and even early summer were terrible times to be alive.
