What really happens when the S hits the Fan? What happens to you? Are you prepared for what happens to you?
Now, we know that we have enough food, we know that we have enough water and ammo, but what happens to our bodies. Even those who have trained the body and trained in skills that are applicable to such a situation, there can still be issues.
You could freeze in the face of true danger. Training in climate controlled and other controlled conditions just doesn’t mimic the situations you will face in a falling world. The training will give you great muscle memory but if your mind falls apart you could be in some real trouble. Its time to train your mind.
In order to prepare yourself for the stresses of true survival you are going to have to go and do things. You are going to have to go and do! This means dirt time, this means camping in the rain and the cold. This means starving and being dehydrated.
Another great way to train mental strength is to live a dynamic lifestyle. In other worlds put yourself in new and uncomfortable positions more often. Try things you are not good at and learn new things you never thought you could do. A dynamic lifestyle will keep you guessing and growing. There is no room for stagnation.
You can also train the mind through meditation. Some do this while running. They think they are just running but they are actually meditating and getting a bit of cardio in.
Beware of anyone who has a book or service that can train your mind. Unless they are going to push you physically into a state of distress, they cannot make your mind stronger. How you react to adversity depends on how much of it you have seen.
