Have you ever been away from home (or just too busy to get to your garden) for a week, and came home to a weed garden that hid your veggie garden?
This happened to us several times, and it’s such a pain to catch up with weeding! you might even be inclined to just give up on your garden.
Today I’d like to share with you a gardening method that helps with weed control. It’s called lasagna gardening, or no dig gardening and it involves a specific method of preparing the soil that doesn’t allow weeds to grow easily.
The no dig gardening is best in raised beds, but you can create raised beds with the same results.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- a layer of compost
- some manure
- grass clippings and shredded newspaper
- multipurpose compost
I love learning ways to minimize my work and maximize the return on my time and work investment in the garden.
