Its a sad truth but a truth it is. You can write to Congress or you can curse the drug companies but you better prepare yourself while you are at it.
There comes a time when survival takes over and you have to make decisions that positively affect your survival. These are not always the most popular or the most fun decisions but they are almost always necessary. When it comes to dealing with an active shooter there are some serious things that will require your attention.
Carrying a Firearm
Are you going to carry a firearm? When terrible things like this happen people get armed. Its been that way for ages. However, carrying a gun is a huge responsibility and some Americans aren’t ready to bear it.
Focusing on Trauma
With or without a gun you are going to benefit from being able to render first aid to those who are injured. If you start to carry a trauma kit and take some courses in first aid, you could be a powerful force for good.
We all could do well from a little more focus on the world around us. We need to pay more attention to doors and people who come through those doors. Its not always easy but we need to make a better effort.
The ugliness of these active shooter events is hard to understand. Its a brutal look into the darkest parts of American. That’s the reason they are so heinous. Its a two level attack. The first is an attack on our people the next is an attack on our way of life.
