We are currently living through the age of the proxy war.  These wars are less about freedom and liberation and more about selling missiles. We all can agree that there is something just a little bit off about all of the wars we have been in over the past 30 years or more. In WWII things were very clear and the enemy was very clear as well. Now fighting insurgencies is a little more challenging than armies on a battlefield and more complicated that is funding insurgencies.

Think of the proxy war as filling up a cup with water. These proxy wars are often fought using smaller nations or groups that are backed by larger nations. Russia/Syria and Rebels/USA is the best and most current example. Every effort adds water to that cup and eventually the cup overflows and the larger nations are affected. We have seen Russians killed by proxy American forces. How long will that be tolerated and what will be the consequence?
