Yes. That time of year is upon us again.
If you are on the Atlantic coast then you will be concerning yourself with hurricanes again. The annual threat never ceases to remind us why we need to get generators and flashlights in check before those spiraling storms make their way into our towns again.

Let’s get into 5 quick preps for dealing with hurricane season.
Building an emergency cash fund can be a real pain in the neck. It’s hard because money is tight, right? Well, if you work on it for 6 months. you will suddenly have a couple of hundred bucks. That can go a long way in a disaster.
You gotta have extra gas and you need to have a full tank just in case. If you know a hurricane is coming, you should be ready. It’s no surprise.
Invest in some good jerry cans and this will be easier to do.
Another big part of prepping for hurricanes is dealing with taking your important documents along with you in evacuation. Your evacuation plan is so important and you have all the time to prepare it.
It should include all of your most important documents. Things like insurance, licenses, IDs and deeds all should be included. Get a good document safe and just leave them inside of it.
From flashlights to emegency radios, all of your gear needs a good check. Get extra batteries and be prepared to pull out the right stuff when the storm hits.
The other powerful part of preparing for a hurricane is, well, the power. Perform a load check on your gas generator. Be sure that thing is prepared to put the lights back on in your home.
If you dont have a gas generator, it might be worth looking into.
