What is the number one thing that comes up in all survival fiction? What are the characters always searching for, working on or struggling with when it comes to SHTF entertainment?
It’s food. It’s always food.
There is a reason for this. There is a reason that we are always worried about food. We are watching food prices and the situation with crops in the midwest. Will this affect food price? Will it affect food availability? So how do you quickly build a 30-day emergency food stockpile?
Buckets and Bags
One of the first things you should do is invest in some 5-gallon buckets, mylar bags, and oxygen absorbers. You will quickly be able to bucket up to your on long term food storage if you have these items. That gives you real power to affect your food storage situation.
Instead of buying smaller amounts of food or buying pre-made buckets, you should have access to your own.
Buy in Bulk
Forget about buying 1lb of rice for food storage. Get your hands on 25lb bags or even 50lb bags. These can be had at membership buyers clubs for $20! 50lbs of of rice for $20. That is how you affect food storage.
This is a new way of looking at things but in no time you will have 100,000 calories stored in your home.
Focus on Grains and Beans
Buying the right foods will also help you build your food storage fast. You see, it will be a big deal for you to focus on grains like rice, corn, wheat, and beans. These things are high in calories and protein but are also very cheap.
Starting at ground zero, food storage might look like something terrible or too far-reaching to deal with. However, if you make these moves toward DIY bulk food storage, well, you will have a food storage stockpile in a hurry.
