To be completely honest, there is only one animal in my hunting history that hunted easy. It was a squirrel I happened upon in a rainstorm. I will never forget it because it was the first animal I killed with a bow and arrow.
The rain was pouring down and I approached him slowly but then I realized there was no way he could hear me over the raindrops. I pulled back the trusty recurve bow and sent him flying along with the arrow.
By no means are they saying that anything is easy to hunt. I promise you everything on this planet has a desire to survive and you will do nothing to stifle that desire. Hunting is a skill like any other that requires practice and the right tools. Lacking either and you won’t be able to hunt anything.
squirrels are plentiful and you need only follow them to their nest to know exactly where to find them. Each morning they will emerge from that nest and in the night they will return to the nest. That is a big deal. If you find the nests you can make it easy.
You can bait oppossums. Remember, you are not going to be worried about wildlife management laws. You are going to be surviving. These creatures can also be found around your chicken coop. That can be a big help to ya!
Similar to the opposum, you will find that raccoon is easily baited with trash and can be taken nightly in areas where they are plentiful. These animals are nocturnal and they are easy to find in urban areas. If you are concerned about food in an urban environment you should most certainly have rats and raccoons on the menu!
Consider some good steel traps for getting food, as well.
