We all have neighbors and we can only imagine what level of preparations they have on hand. We would all like to think that we are surrounded by preppers but that is likely not the case.
So, what can you do to get the cog wheels turning in the minds of those who live around you?
Of course, you don’t want to come out and say, “Hi, Im a prepper!”
One of the best ways to make initial contact with your neighbors and get the ball rolling, is to start a small community garden. Its a fun and simple concept that everyone can understand. You will find that almost everyone understand the why a community gardne works.
It will not provide your family with food but it could bring people together and that is very powerful. It is also a good place to bank seeds!
A way to leverage your communities power is to consider bulk purchasing. There are things that all homes need and there are places that give you a deep discount if you buy over a certain amount. Now, this can be simple things like tarps and flashlights during hurricane season.
If you get bold, perhaps you hip your neighbors to the idea of buying bulk freeze dried foods. This could make a huge difference in how they think about things.
This is basically a big fancy word for an email group or a Nextdoor group. Sure, you might think that a shortwave radio comms network for your community might be better, well, that’s not going to fly with everyone.
Instead, we are going to consider how we can get messages to the community in a hurry. This can be done with a simple comms network on an email group. You can talk storms, crime and other issues as a community.
