While very rewarding, gardening is hard work. Between preparing the soil, planting your crops and keeping the weeds out, it could become a full time job. So here’s a way to feed your soil without adding extra work to your day, by using the trench composting method.
Trench composting doesn’t only create compost for your garden. It also helps you get rid of kitchen scraps without sending them to the landfills. Composting couldn’t get any easier.
I keep a small covered container by my kitchen door, and collect kitchen scraps throughout the day. Then, at the end of the day, I take it out to the garden, dump it in my composting trench, and cover it with a shovel of dirt. Simple, yet rewarding in so many ways.
If you’ve been struggling to keep up with a compost pile (who has time to turn and move decaying scraps?), this could be the way to go.
