The morning is a beautiful time. When you wake up and meet a silent morning it can be near spiritual experience. The world outside is quiet and cold and the energy all around is just calmer. Its the perfect time to focus and get things done. Its a great time to achieve fitness goals, that we all struggle with.
While this might seem like blasphemy to those who hate mornings, its true. The early morning is for preppers and people with a readiness mindset. Its important to watch the sunrise each day. Some people say its important to earn the sunrise by achieving something even before the sun comes up.
So, what in the world do you do if you wake up an hour or two before the sun comes up to really affect preparedness?
Plan the Day
You can control the day if you plan it. Most people complain about not having time to get prepared or use preparedness gear. We all struggle with time, however, if you wake up and make a solid plan for the day you can break it up by hours or chunks of hours and that will allow you to plug in an hour here or there to dedicate to preparedness.
We must take care of ourselves. This means things like fitness, stretching, yoga, meditation. You are going to face some world class stress to your body and mind in a disaster. The body and mind your bring to battle is going to make all the difference. We need to spend more time on the body and mind that carries the skills and knowledge.
Whether we are talking about sharpening blades, familiarizing ourselves with gear or just going through bags to weed out redundancy, the early morning is great for that. It will allow you a time to lay out gear before work or before kids get up and really focus on it.
