Warning About MRE’s
Being prepared is all about having things in place and being reliant on them if SHTF. MRE’s (or Meals Ready to Eat) are an excellent source of calories and nutrients and millions of us have stockpiled lots of these.
MRE’s are obviously a trusted food source because the military use them and they are not to expensive when compared to freeze dried foods and other survival foods you can purchase. A typical case of MRE’s typically will set you back out 80 – 100 bucks.
Now, the bad news. Check expiration dates on the cases and the most important fact is they must be kept frozen until needed. Otherwise they will spoil in a few months in hot weather!
I have also read that they’re a lot of cases where when you open the case and look at the MRE’s there is items missing. This is seriously bad and could jeopardize your family’s food plan in an emergency.
Check out the original article in the link below and also read the comments that other people have left. It has seriously made me think twice about stocking MRE’s.
