Sometimes the best way you can measure yourself is to look at another person’s opinion. In our society, today people are so soft that we are outlawing opposing opinions.
We are very confident about all aspects of our preparedness efforts. Of course, there are many people outside of the community who may look at our efforts a little differently.
There is no getting around the fact that preppers are somewhat gear obsessed. In fact, there are people who are downright tethered to prepping for the sheer opportunity to use it as an excuse to buy new gear! Hey, that is their calling and I am not made at em.
All the Gear
Preppers have all the gear and they have their ears out for the gear that hasn’t even come out yet. Now, you might think this is merely tactical gear but it even extends into things like prepper clothes!
From radical amalgamations of multiple tools to a vast array of water filters, preppers gotta have it. The big question in all this is: WHY?
Why do we feel the need to have the lastest and the greatest or even multiples of the latest and the greatest?
The Prepper’s Edge
The reality is that prepper’s want an edge in preparedness. We want to be operating from a position of power in the event of a disaster. That is a big deal.
Prepper’s want to teach, as well. They want to know about the latest and the greatest so they can tell others about it. A big, often overlooked, part of prepping is being able to teach. We like to know what’s going on and we like to prep others.
Some of the prepping gear habit is unhealthy and if you are going into debt buying preps you are doing it wrong.
