Water is everything in survival. If you were held at gunpoint and had to hand over all of your preps one by one. The water filters and purification should be the last thing you hand over. That’s just the reality of how precious that water can be. You have to know that water is going to keep you alive and it will only take 3 days until you are either dead from dehydration or so debilitated its inevitable.
Having a safe water plan can change all of that. You see water is a multi-tiered resource and you should approach it as such. Safe water gives you the ability to do all sorts of things, even beyond just drinking. If you have a system for collecting or sanitizing water, you can even become the “water company” in times of disaster. That is such a powerful asset and valuable.
Your plan should include a number of sourcing and sanitizing resources.
Be sure that you don’t rely on one source for emergency water. Buying and storing water is important but it can be spoiled or stolen. Rain collection, water sourcing and also knowing where you can get more water when all of that is exhausted, should be high on your to-do list.
The source of your water should be multi-tiered and you should have plenty of options in this case.
Whether you have aquatabs, powerful filters, bleach for purification or if you just rely on the old standard and boil water, you need a purification option and you should have more than one. While the actual purification of water can be done with a simple boil, you might also want to focus on filtering first. This will make the water more palatable and taste better.
Water is everything. Make it number one on your list and you will have power and sustainability in a survival situation.
