Each week there is a bit of news about preppers. Though many people believe the group to be a marginalized bunch of nuts, they cannot seem to look away. That is because the average person knows enough to understand the threats that we face. They know there is something to all this prepping.

Each week there is a bit of news about preppers.

This week in prepping news a reinforced home called Hard Luck Castle was highlighted. This cylinder shaped home is a combination of radically thick rock walls and beautiful interior design. This place is built in the deserts of Nevada and will cost you $900,000.

To the average person this is a rare thing, a doomsday castle for sale, but there are whole companies out there selling “doomsday” or survival realty. While its not a category for everyone its something worth taking a look at.

So what does survival realty look like?

Mountain Homes

Naturally you are going to have lots of homes in secluded areas and in the high grounds. These isolated mountain homes are a great look at the perfect bugout location. No better place to run from a nightmarish situation than at the highest elevation you can reach, farthest away from those who might be a threat.

Caves

You could also go the Batman route and find one of these cave locations that are often listed in survival reality. Caves are not only great places to build a bugout location but also a great area to store backup preps and survival caches.

Bunkers

People have been building bunkers for a long time and there are lots of them on the market. From gigantic missile silos to small bunkers. You might think that these bunkers are not of use to you but you might find a bunker closer to home is better than a mountain home that is 50 miles away.

Pemmican is a portable, long-lasting, high-energy food. It's made of lean, dried meat that's crushed into powder and mixed with hot, rendered fat. This makes it one of the ultimate foods to have stockpiled for when SHTF or disaster strikes.
