How To Test Drinking Water at Home
Few people do at home water testing. They assume that the system they are on has been fully tested and is safe to use. In the majority of the cases, they are correct but what if you’re on a water catch system or a well? You need to be able to test your own water. From a prepper standpoint, having the knowledge to test water for potability is a very valuable skill to have. It can mean the literal difference between life and death for those surviving with you.
Once the stored water runs out, will you be absolutely certain that the water you’re catching and collecting safe? Most preppers think about the acquisition and filtering water. Testing it is something rarely discussed! The truth is, it would be very wise for preppers to buy and store a couple simple (and inexpensive) water testing kits to have in their preps. Just because you’ve filtered and boiled water does not guarantee that the water is actually safe for consumption.
With all the things we as preppers have to keep track of, it’s understandable why a water testing kit can be overlooked. The good news is that it’s not too late!
