A shipping container is much stronger than traditional wood frame construction, inexpensive, and a great starting point to build a home or cabin.

Shipping containers are worth their weight in gold in my opinion, they can be purchased for cheap. They are very strong compared to the light wood frame structures that are typically built with.
They are a great starting point for above-ground structures like a home or cabin. However, I don’t recommend burying shipping containers to make a bunker. It’s just not worth the risk.
