Potato Power: See How Potatoes Could Get You Off The Grid
This article blew me away when I read it. Researcher Rabinowitch and colleagues have been testing out potato power for a few years now and say that a few potatoes and a few metal plates with all the wires hooked up correctly could produce enough power to run a light. This is just amazing and has so much potential.
This is a quote from Rabinowitch “A single potato can power enough LED lamps for a room for 40 days.” Just that alone should have you asking more questions.
Now, I’m thinking how do I make this actually feasible? I am limited on space and storing hundreds of potatoes would be difficult for me. I like how this is going though and I hope to see something like this take off and provide eco-friendly power / light.
I shared an article in the past called “How To Make a Penny Battery” and that, too, is a great hack if you needed quick power to get a few LED’s going in an emergency.
