Here are 10 quick tips to help you with kids and prepping!
Prepare for adults
While you might have kids they will one day be adults. Be sure you have water resources and food to care for adults. This is important. If you plan for kids you will be underprepared.
Remember you cannot move fast
When it comes to kids, no matter how fast you are, you can only move as fast as your kids. You cannot yell at them and excoriate them. You just gotta move slower.
You are not a warfighting faction with kids
Many preppers get wrapped up in this idea of being tactical fighting forces. It’s not reality. If you have kids you need to avoid a firefight with all your might. You do not have acceptable casualties. Kids need parents and you need your kids.
Dont forget kids medicine
Stockpile plenty of meds for kids. It’s not only helpful for your kids but might be a great barter item for others.
Dont forget to enjoy kids in good times and in bad, they are a blessing.
Be sure that your survival kits and bugout bags have entertainment options for your kids. These are vital.
Above all, have patience.
Be prepared to teach them
Someone is going to need to teach your kids during and after a disaster. That person should be you. Print out materials or buy books for that, today.
Get them outside
Get them acclimated to the outside world. Life on the couch playing video games is very convenient for busy parents but it will be a shock to the system if that life is ripped away and they know nothing of the world outside.
They are just kids
Dont expect them to turn into paramilitary survivalists. They are just kids. They didn’t ask to be here. They are your responsibility.
