When you think about what you are trying to achieve with a bugout location you may not want a nice lawn and some of those things that make it feel like home.

Now bugout locations vary radically. For some, they are underground, well-stocked bunkers. For others, it might just be a spot in the woods.

The idea of a bug out location that is part vacation retreat and part last hope for safety is appealing two and that is where keeping it hidden might be in your best interest. Let’s look at hiding bugout locations and even checking your work.

Natural Cover

Once you have identified your bugout location you can start working to manage that land. You can use all sorts of natural cover from trees to vines in an effort to cover and hide your BOL.

You might even consider growing some brambles that will deter people from searching.

Tarp Cover

With high-quality earth tone or camo tarps, you can cover a location. You can do the same with netting, as well. This is a great means of also covering up vehicles from detection.

Google Maps

If you have taken steps to secure a location, you can check your work by using google maps. You will at least be able to see what your BOL looks like from an overhead perspective.

This will give you a view that only an n expensive drone can offer you.

However, you never know who might be using drones to seek out properties just like yours after a collapse. Keep that bugout location well hidden.
