If you are a hardcore prepper, there is something you have to understand. Even if you know everything there is to know about prepping, you could be killed.
If you die you are going to leave your family behind with a bunch of stuff that they cannot use. That is a bad deal.
The only way to convey that knowledge is to create a set of SOPs or a manual of emergency plans that will get some use! You have to have a set of plans that actually get used once and a while. If you are not practicing then you are just playing.
A fire drill is very important. People die in house fires. This still happens today. Know exits and alternative exits and meetup points outside the home. Also, include pets in your evacuations. You will find that there are a number of things you can improve.
The evacuation plan is something that all American need to work out. Evacuation gets you and your family out of harms way in a hurry. You need a place to go and you need to know what things you should take along with you.
Do these things now so you are not guessing and rushing when it is go time.
If your door is kicked in tonight what are you going to do? What do you do first? You need a bump in the night plan. While most break-ins are going to be about theft, you have to be prepared to take action.
Consider calling the police and taking action to get your family in one room. This could make a big difference. Get to know your local laws about home defense, as well.
As you can see these do not have to be plans that address the end of the world. Rather they can be plans that are used to address those things that happen to regular people all the time.
