The urban sprawl will be filled with more resources than the wilderness. It will be filled with more threats and more people looking for those resources. That doesn’t make it easy.

Still, you could have a situation where things are going to work out in your favor if you have cached resources in smart places. When you think survival cache you may think of something buried.

You can hide preps anywhere and post-collapse you should move them often if they aren’t buried.

Just as a naturalist is versed in the trees and bushes you must be a master of drywall and construction in an urban environment.

Ceilings

Hiding supplies in ceilings is a great way to store caches in the urban environment. If only you know where they are hidden they are nearly impossible to find.

Walls

Whether you build some false walls or just use the space in your existing walls, you can do some serious storing of supplies in walls.

To be even more covert you can hide a cache in the walls of an abandoned building.

Buried

The good old method of burying works just as well in the urban environment as it does in the wilderness

Abandoned Buildings

If you are familiar with a local building that has been abandoned that might be a great place to cache things. Just be sure it’s brick and your cache is strong enough to withstand things like fire and collapse.

Waterways

Waterproof caches are a great way to store things underwater. You can use chain or another means of tying down a cache under water.  These are nearly impossible to find.

In Holes

Sort of the same idea as the waterway, deep holes are great hiding places. Things like construction sites, wells, hollow trees or other unexplored deep dark places will not be frequented by people and thus a great place to store a cache.
