Though we like to think of prepping as a way to get ready for scary disasters it is truly a journey.
There is no denying that the journey in preparedness most often starts out with fear. It is the realization of just how weak and fragile we are. Our society and ourselves, we are all so weak and there is no getting around that.
Step one is recognizing that and reacting. That is the basis of all prepping. When you see terrible shows like Doomsday Preppers you are witnessing people who never made it past level one of prepping.
Once you right the ship and you get past the fear you start to realize that prepping and changes everything and it actually pushes you towards a better life.
Self Reliance and Independence
Prepping quickly becomes the journey towards self-reliance and independence. It’s about becoming less dependent on outside sources. This varies wildly across the population. However, every bit of independence you create for yourself is one step nearer to ultimate freedom.
We are a free people who have forfeited much of our freedom to convenience.
Prepping also allows you to become more of what you really want to be. In our shackled lives, we close a lot of doors in order to fit in and make others happy. Prepping starts opening the doors! How else would you find yourself over an anvil crafting survival knives?
You will find yourself in prepping.
Your Best Self
You need something to push you. The end of the world as you know it can make that happen. You dont find your best self by chilling out in front of a video game. It takes stresses and new things and struggles and some pain to become your best self.
Prepping is a journey. Dont get stuck on step one.
