Imagine losing your child in the woods. Would they be capable of finding their way back to you or back to camp? Depending on their age they may or may not. Now imagine you lose your child and there are no police and no one to help you find them.
There are no helicopters to fly above the tree line and search for your child. It’s up to you to find them.
Tracking and counter tracking are very important skills to know, you don’t have to be a 20 year expert at tracking to know what you’re looking for.
As you can imagine in SHTF you are going to be dealing with a whole host of issues. Some of those issues could involve finding someone important to you. This is where tracking is so valuable.
Another terrifying reality could be the realization that you are being followed. Would you know how to react if you were being tracked? There is a good chance that people could be looking for you if you have preps and guns.
There are many ways to backtrack and manipulated trails so that the average person will have no clue which way you are truly going.
In counter tracking, you can also drive someone who is tracking you into a position where you can see who they are. By hiding and forcing someone to follow a preordained path you can expose the person who is following you.
This changes the balance of power dramatically. It turns you from being the hunted to the hunter. That can make all the difference.
Just study tracking basics and you will see the world around you through a very different lens. This is an important survival skill and one that is lost on our concrete world.
