There are many ways that a prepper can fall short. It’s not easy to get yourself and the people you love ready for some terrible disaster that is mostly unknown to you. It’s quite the Nostradamic undertaking.
However, simple planning can make this much easier. When you have emergency plans you can go much further. Of course, practicing those plans will keep you and your family sharp.
So why are preppers not investing in real strategic planning?
Prepping is a Hobby
Many people read prepping blogs, watch prepping videos but do not take prepping seriously. They might keep it on the periphery and use it as a reason to buy some guns or a nice flashlight.
Prepping is a lifestyle and you cannot get all the perks if you dont do your best to invest in that. Its a very rewarding journey that has been demonized by the media.
It’s Easy to Fail
Prepping takes years and money to invest in. In other words, it’s easy to fall short. Many people run from this because of their desire to not feel the sting of failure.
Some of my biggest improvements in prepping have followed some of my biggest failures. Dont be afraid to fail, start taking preparedness more seriously.
Lack of Support
Another big struggle that keeps preppers from really going for the gold is the fact that some families do not support the prepper in their midst. That is a tough reality. It can be a real struggle when you are singled out.
However, its no reason not to forge on. Be sure that you explain why you are preparing and that its good for the future of the family and then just keep moving forward. You might have some arguments but dont forget, you probably argue about the where to put shoes in your house!
