The concept of EDC is an interesting one. Its the rare example of something that started out of necessity but now carries a veil of fashion.
Everyday carry items are all about necessity. Some people look at EDC as a means of putting together the items you need for a workday and having them on your person. Another example is having the things you need to defend yourself and repair yourself.
EDC items include things like guns, pens, wallets, IFAKs, trauma kits, flashlights and more. It’s very much a matter of personal needs and how you deal with those things. So what do you carry all this stuff in?
Some people throw it all in pockets and carry a heavy load under a strong gunbelt. Others carry EDC Backpacks.
Over the shoulder “man bag” is often mocked but they are a tremendous benefit. These bags also appear like nothing special. They are a great addition for your grey man getup. Messenger bags are easy to access and you could do some serious EDC with a bag like that.
These bags have tons of space and can carry all sorts of items to assist you in a day. This could be a laptop or other electronics.
Another lightweight option is the sling pack. The single strap sling has been adapted to meet the needs of the EDC crowd. Some are even designed with CCW in mind and have places for handguns and even pistol caliber carbines to be stored.
The sling packs are very stylish and they are something that most people don’t pay a lot of attention to. This is important if you are dealing with carrying some sensitive items. You don’t wanna look like a wannabe tacticool goofball that gets assaulted first when the nasty goes down.
